If you miss the first gate, you must go back around to Cropsey Avenue and come back again from 26th Avenue. Fields 1 and 2 are the front two fields (parking at the entrance to the park) and the remaining fields are in the back (once you enter the gate to the park you will go straight toward the rear parking lot). Parking is FREE, however, if you feel like making a donation, a suggested donation of $5 per car can be made at the concession stand.

  • Yes, there is! Our parent committee has put together great CONCESSION STANDS with fresh breakfast and lunch items, snacks, and fruits. We will have plenty of water and Gatorade for you and your players to stay hydrated. And we would not be the Italians without providing fresh coffee and espresso. Best of all, we will be open all weekend.

  • All teams are required to check in at least 45 minutes before their first match on Saturday at the check-in tent. In order to check in, you need to provide official rosters from a ENYSSA or USYS sanctioned league. Any players not on the roster will need to provide their player card in order to compete.

  • While we hope no player is injured during the course of competition, we will athletic trainers onsite, provided through our partnership with NYU Langone. They are the best in NYC and can tend to any and all injuries.

  • 2022 Columbus Cup Rules and Regulations

    1. GENERAL RULES

The Tournament Committee and Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by any team, club, or individual if the tournament is canceled in whole or part. The Tournament Committee’s interpretation of these rules shall be final and binding. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to decide on all matters pertaining to the tournament.

Each team prior to the tournament must submit a roster. These rosters will then be used at registration as part of the player checklist. It is expected that each team will participate in the customary handshake and exchange patches following the game. First and second place medals will be awarded to winners and runners-up in each division.

    2. LAWS OF THE GAME

All games shall be played in accordance with FIFA & US Soccer Federation laws, except as specifically modified by those rules.

    3. ELIGIBILITY / ROSTERS

All participating teams must be currently registered with their state association. Teams registered outside of USYSA Region I and New Jersey must have a copy of the approved Permission to Travel or Notification to Travel form, as required by their host association, in order to participate unless the team is not a member of US Youth Soccer (such as AYSO, SAY, US Club Soccer or Super Y Leagues). The non-US Youth Soccer teams do not have to have a US Youth Soccer application to travel form (although that team’s organization may require that the team have permission).

An approved team roster and current player cards must be provided to the tournament committee at the tournament check-in.

A signed and dated medical release form (by the parent) must be presented at the time of registration for all players participating in the tournament. A maximum of 3 guest players. These players must be registered and carded in their state association.

A player can only play for one team during the tournament (for example, a 2002 player playing up with a 2001 team would not be eligible to represent both a 2001 team and a 2002 team).

    5

Half Time will be exactly five (5) minutes in duration. There will be five (5) minutes in between matches.

    Build Out Lines U8-U10 Only

    - Build-out lines are required for 7v7 play at the U9-U10 age groups. - When the GK has the ball, either during the play or from a goal kick, the opposing team must retreat behind the build-out line.

    - GK can play the ball right away or once the opposing team is behind the build-out line. GK can pass or throw/roll the ball to a teammate anywhere on the field (NO PUNTING).

    - After the ball is put into play by the GK, by either leaving GK's hand or by a goal kick, the opposing team may cross the build-out line, and play resumes as normal.

    - A restart from the GK’s hands or goal kick will take place if the opposition infringes inside the build-out lines.

    HOME TEAM

The Home Team appears first on the game schedule. The Visitor Team (the team listed second on the game schedule) will kick off at the beginning of the first half and the home team will have a choice of end.

The Home Team will be required to switch to alternate jerseys to accommodate color conflicts as declared by the referee. If the Home Team cannot supply alternate jerseys, the Visitor Team will change. Pennies will be used as a last resort. Team coaches and player substitutes are to be on the

SAME SIDE of the field and all spectators are to be on the OPPOSITE SIDE of the field.

    PRELIMINARY ROUNDS

In the preliminary rounds (games within your bracket), teams will play in a round-robin format. Ties will stand during preliminary

rounds. At the end of the preliminary rounds, bracket winners will be those teams with the most points in their bracket. If a division

requires an additional team (wild card) to complete the semi-final slots, the wild card team will be the non-bracket winner within the

division with the most number of points. The following point system will be used to determine who advances. Forfeiture of a game makes a team ineligible to be a division winner or wild card.

    DETERMINING WINNERS

Teams will be awarded points on the following basis:

∙ Three (3) points for each Win (or a game forfeited to them) ∙ One (1) point for a Tie

    ∙ Zero (0) points for a Loss

In the event of a tie within a flight, the following criteria will be used to determine the winner:

    1. Head to head competition (if there is a 3 team tie, proceed to the next tie breaker)

    2. Goal Differential

    3. Most Wins

    4. Most Goals Scored

    5. Fewest Goals Allowed

    6. Most Shut-outs

Please note that no scores will count greater than a 3-goal margin. For example, if Team Y beats Team P 14-1 then the final score will be recorded as 4-1 (maximum of 3 goal margin). This is meant to have all teams be considerate of the players and parents of the opposing team. Perhaps a coach didn’t realize the level of competition and entered the incorrect bracket or perhaps the team just had a bad performance due to an injury. Let’s remember the spirit of the tournament.

    Wild Card

If a Wild Card team must be selected, the Wild Card team will NOT be assigned to play against the winner of its own bracket.

    Overtime

For Championship games, if there is a tie at the end of regulation, teams will play 2 equal (5-minute) overtime periods (no golden goal). If the score is tied, we will go to penalty kicks as per FIFA laws (5) to decide the match.
