Mehmet K. becomes the latest player to join the New York Red Bulls Academy

We are delighted to announce Mehmet K., one of our top talents in the Under-10 age group, will join the New York Red Bulls pre-academy team on a full-time basis for the 2022/23 season. As with all of our players who move on to the New York Red Bulls, Mehmet will continue to be part of the Brooklyn Italians SC family.

As the Official Brooklyn Academy Affiliate of the New York Red Bulls, Mehmet is en route to New Jersey where he will compete in one of the world’s most renowned academy programs.

“We wish Mehmet and his family, a great journey into the New York Red Bulls pathway to the professional game,” said Director of Coaching Antonio Superbia Jr. “As our organizations continue to collaborate closely on many development initiatives such as the RDS Talent Center, Elite Level Player I.D., Skills Clinic, and Summer Camps; we are certain to continue attracting the best aspiring young players in the borough of Brooklyn. It is our hope they will all follow in the footsteps of Mehmet.”

Coach Simon Mizrahi who has been coaching Mehmet for the past three years added “Mehmet is a very gifted player that knows he can reach high but understands he needs to put in the work and does it graciously. A leader on and off the field, making sure all his teammates play their best and always encouraging them to work hard and get better. I want to personally wish Mehmet the best of luck on the next step of his life.”
