The Italians took early control of the game, creating chances through the left wing. The boys in white, especially left-back Frej Engberg and left winger Harry Cooksley, were able to put the Cosmos back 4 under pressure. The Italians were the first to hit the back of the net with Rasmus Hansen scoring his first of the campaign in the 17th minute. As the first half continued, the game settled down and both teams continued to create chances. The Cosmos B were able to equalize before the stroke of halftime, scoring a goal against the run of play in the 39th. With the game equaled at 1, the teams went into the half.

Similar to the first half, the second half had a lively pace to begin. Both teams going back and forth, the Italians were awarded a penalty in the 58th minute. With two goals in the game against NYAC, Harry Cooksley was able to score the penalty, bringing his campaign tally to 3.

The moment of the match came in the 81st when keeper Mike Bernardi made a full extention save to protect the one goal lead, tipping the ball over the post.

With six points from the first two matches, the Italians go into their first true home game on Saturday, June 3, against Elm City. Returning to LIU Brooklyn, the game will kick off at 7pm. We cannot wait to see you as you continue to support the boys in Blue and White!
