Giuseppe Barone Signs for Italian Professional side A.C. Perugia Calcio
BROOKLYN, NY - Lifelong Brooklyn Italians Youth Soccer player, Giuseppe Alessandro Barone, signs a professional contract with A.C. Perugia Calcio in Italy’s Serie B.
Giuseppe played for the club starting in the year 2002. He traveled around the USA with his team and was able to compete in the Dallas Cup, the USA Cup, and the Jefferson Cup. Giuseppe attended Xaverian High School in Brooklyn and holds the record for most goals in one season. He signed for Long Island University on a D1 full scholarship. Giuseppe won one NEC Championship with the Blackbirds. In his senior year of college, he signed for the New York Cosmos. Giuseppe was invited to Perugia to train under coach Serse Cosmi. After a short few days, Cosmi was convinced and he signed a pro contract.
